Cotton thrives in tropical and subtropical climates. Only the flower buds or seed pods provide spinning fibres, which are surrounded by fluffy fibres.
The seeds are removed from the bolls, leaving only the usable fibres. All cotton processing was done by hand until the late 1700s, when the cotton gin was invented.
Cotton sarees are incredibly comfortable to wear due to the nature of the fabric - soft and absorbent.
Each saree has a distinct design on the border, pallav, and body. The simplest of these sarees takes about 10-12 hours to weave.
The model is dressed in a blouse from our own collection.
Due to the traditional hand weave, unevenness in the selvedge and weave is to be expected.
Sunkissed, she stood there exuberant. The sun smiled at her as she grooved to the candid beats of nature.
Her eyes trace the horizon of the unclouded skies.
The dews of the changes fall on unwavering confidence, she is ready to flip the pages.
She will write her own story now and this excites her and it makes her realise- that she could be a poet in another world.
She told her secrets to the house and the walls listened.
