Meghna — Hand Block Kalamkari Cotton Dress

Two Indian craft traditions. One dress. Meghna doesn't choose between them.

The front and sleeves are hand block printed Kalamkari — bold royal blue with large cream floral and leaf motifs, outlined in fine black lines in the style of Srikalahasti. The side panels are handwoven black and white gamcha check, gathered into generous pleats that give the dress its wide, flowing A-line. A red stripe border runs at the hem. A fine Kalamkari strip sits just above it.

Kalamkari and gamcha. Blue and white and red. Craft and check. It shouldn't work as well as it does — and yet it's exactly right.

The fabric is pure cotton — soft, breathable, made for warm days and long wear. The silhouette falls to the knee and works beautifully as a dress or as a long kurta over slim trousers or churidars.

Wear it to work, a cultural event, a festive gathering, or anywhere that deserves something genuinely original.
