About-
This saree is distinguished by its loose weave, light weight, and translucent construction, as well as contrasting borders in a variety of colours.
A ragged edge pattern emphasises these as well. On the weft, narrow borders are woven with a variety of stripes and figured motifs using dyed cotton yarn.
The design on the Border, Pallav, and Body of each saree is unique. It takes roughly 10-12 hours to weave the simplest of these sarees.
More complex designs may take up to 5-6 days to create. The procurement of cotton threads is the first step in the saree-making process.
Cotton threads are purchased in bundles from the mill or a local market. Sage, arrowroot, rice, and wheat are the most common starches used for size.
The yarn is dipped in boiling coloured water for dyeing after a couple of washes, based on colour and design.
Threads are coiled on bamboo drums before being fed into the loom. Warping is now done with sectional warping machines, which have mostly replaced the age-old tradition of street warping.
The model is wearing a blouse from our in-house wardrobe
This is a genuine Hand crafted piece, unevenness in the selvedge and weave could be expected due to the traditional hand weave.
Allegory -
She looked back but this time not to stay. She stood her ground and looked at the sky to reach for the stars.
She wraps the threads of magic around her silhouette and forges towards her bright future that she always dreamt of.
She feels powerful and she feels new once again and she does not want to feel or be any other way.
She wants to fly because she is a yellow bird.
